Leslie Charlotte Benenson (Londres, 13 de enero de 1941 – 18 de febrero de 2018) fue una artista inglesa de gran versatilidad, activa en disciplinas como la escultura, la pintura, la acuarela, la cerámica, el grabado y la caligrafía.
Desde joven mostró un especial interés por el dibujo animalista. Durante los años cincuenta trabajó con constancia en el estudio de animales en el zoológico de Regent’s Park y recibió la orientación de Gertrude Holman dentro de la Royal Drawing Society, donde obtuvo varios reconocimientos por sus dibujos.
Se formó en la Regent Street Polytechnic de Londres entre 1958 y 1963, estudiando escultura con Geoffrey H. Deeley y James Osborne. Obtuvo el National Diploma in Design en 1962 y completó su formación con estudios de grabado en madera, técnicas de fundición en resina y caligrafía, especialidad esta última que la llevó a integrarse en la Society of Scribes & Illuminators.
Desde 1963 residió en Sussex, donde desarrolló buena parte de su trayectoria como escultora, grabadora y calígrafa. Su obra se centró especialmente en la representación del caballo, con una atención muy precisa a la anatomía, el movimiento y el carácter del animal.
Expuso regularmente en instituciones de prestigio como la Royal Academy y la Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers, de la que fue elegida miembro en 1978. En 1979 fue además una de las fundadoras de la Society of Equestrian Artists.

Leslie Charlotte Benenson (London, 13 January 1941 – 18 February 2018) was an English artist known for her versatility across sculpture, oil painting, watercolour, ceramics, printmaking and calligraphy.
From an early age she developed a strong interest in animal drawing. During the 1950s she regularly sketched at Regent’s Park Zoo and was guided by Gertrude Holman through the Royal Drawing Society, where she received several distinctions for her animal studies.
She studied at Regent Street Polytechnic in London from 1958 to 1963 under Geoffrey H. Deeley and James Osborne. She earned the National Diploma in Design in 1962 and later expanded her training through wood engraving, resin casting techniques and calligraphy, becoming associated with the Society of Scribes & Illuminators.
From 1963 onward she lived in Sussex, where she worked mainly as a sculptor, printmaker and calligrapher. Horses became one of the central subjects of her art, represented with remarkable anatomical precision, sensitivity and movement.
Benenson exhibited regularly at major institutions including the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of Painter-Etchers and Engravers, of which she became a member in 1978. In 1979 she was also among the founding members of the Society of Equestrian Artists.
Her work entered both public and private collections, including the Towner Art Gallery, the Ashmolean Museum, Hereford Museum and the International Exlibriscentrum. She remains an important figure in twentieth-century British equestrian and graphic art.

Dès sa jeunesse, elle manifesta un vif intérêt pour le dessin animalier. Pendant les années 1950, elle dessina régulièrement au zoo de Regent’s Park et bénéficia de l’enseignement de Gertrude Holman au sein de la Royal Drawing Society, où elle reçut plusieurs distinctions pour ses études d’animaux.
Elle étudia à la Regent Street Polytechnic de Londres entre 1958 et 1963 auprès de Geoffrey H. Deeley et James Osborne.
